BELOW: The Big Bopper - Was killed in a plane crash around 1:00 the morning of February 3rd, 1959, that also claimed the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the pilot Roger Peterson. At the time of his death, he was 28 years old. LEFT:This sheet of hand-written lyrics to the song "Painted Lady" was found among the wreckage of the plane in the Big Bopper's belongings. This sheet is very rare for the fact that the song was never recorded.

ABOVE: This letter reads as follows: On February 11, 1997, you purchased a set of handwritten lyrics on a notebook page, written by the big bopper. You aquired this from Jay Richardson, the son of the Big Bopper. The notebook, from which the lyric sheet was taken, was in the briefcase of the Big Bopper and was on the airplane when it crashed on February 3, 1959.
