Lyndon B. Johnson

1965 Lincoln Lehman Peterson Limousine

PLAQUE ABOVE READS: Former President Lincoln Lyndon B. Johnson's personal limousine is a custom built 1965 Lehman -Peterson Lincoln Continental that once transported LBJ and important people to various destinations. Built especially for heads of state, it is similar to the limousine that transported President John F. Kennedy on that fateful day ov Nov. 22, 1963.

The LBJ limo features many custom items including writing console, tv, two bars, two stereos, two air conditioners and special reading lights. It's most unusual feature is the interior, done in blue plaid fabric. President Johnson was extremely fond of the blue plaid and this was carried out even in his limousine. The exterior of the car is a brilliant black laquer and quite austere, until the door is opened revealing the bright blue plaid interior, obviously designed to make the president and his passengers feel right at home. This impressive automobile is over 22-feet long. President Lyndon B. Johnson's term in office was from November 1963 to November 1968
