Bodyguard and flag bearer to President Lincoln. He was present during the Gettysburg Address on 11/19/1863 and very possibly used this flag during the ceremony that day. This flag, as well as the belt and portrait of Master Sargent Stimmel were aquired together, and are marked with the initials M.S.S. Smith Stimmel died April 14, 1935 - exactly 70 years to the day of Lincoln’s assasination.

This black dress was worn by Mrs. Francis P. Blair at the funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Francis P. Blair was a pioneer in the founding of the Republican party and served President Abraham Lincoln in an informal capacity many times. It was Blair who offered Robert E. Lee the command of the Union army at the outset of the Civil War. He also served as a go-between Lincoln and Jefferson Davis in
trying to end the conflict.

Ford Theater Replica Chair

Here is a faithful reproduction of the chair Lincoln was sitting in at the time of his assasination. Also on display is a swatch of material from the original chair, which is on permanent display in the Henry Ford Museum.
