Wayne's 1940 Ford Coupe, Dirt Stock Car Racer

1940's Ford Coupe, Dirt Stock Car Racer Raced thru out the late 1950's and 1960's. Owner Wayne Lensing found this old racer sitting out in a field in Mason City, Iowa.

It would have been raced at Mason City, Cresco, and Decorah, Iowa In the late 50's stock car racing was becoming very popular, it seemed as every County that had a horse track at the fairgrounds was turning them into stock car racing. And the enthusiasm was very high.

Every local garage was putting one together, so as they could compete against each other. And the farmers were joining in also. There was no safety as you can see by checking out this fine specimen. Please check out what this farmer did to go racing.
